Current Work
Coombs Motorsports, LLC
This summer I am the team manager and media contact for my family's race team, Coombs Motorsports, LLC. My job as team manager places me in charge of the team's business transactions. Media relations for the team include: sponsorship acquisition and team promotion.

At the track, I work on tires with the car's driver. This role involves monitoring tire pressures, stagger, and wear. To maintain comprehensive notes and nearly instant feedback on what the tires are doing during each run I created a spreadsheet workbook in Open Office. One workbook holds the information for each race week, important tire information such as total number of laps run over the season, and equations that compute how the car is handling to guide chassis and tire changes for the next run.
Current Project:
Honors Capstone:
Every member of the Bentley Honors Society must complete a capstone project in order to graduate with honors from Bentley University. Many of the projects are self-driven with the student picking the projects topic, format, research, and questions. Each student must reach out to a faculty member who has interest or expertise in the study's subject. A student has a semester to complete their project. The projects culminate in a Capstone Conference at the end of the student's senior year.
I have chosen to focus my project on the effect that social media is having on sports public relations. This project will include extensive research on sports that are currently using social media, especially European soccer, and will conclude with a social media implementation plan for NASCAR.
I hope this study will provide me with:
- Insight into my future career
- Knowledge about social media
- Techniques for social media use and implementation
- Information on how big the social media phenomenon is in sports
