Hello!Allison Coombs

I wanted to welcome you, once again, to pitroadpressbox.com. My name is Allison Coombs and I wanted to let you know a little bit more about myself beyond what my resume shows.

If you haven't already looked at my current work page I encourage you to. As for this page, I wanted to reach out to my visitors and give you taste of what I am like.

First for a little bit of a biography...

I was born and raised in Livermore a small town in the western foothills of Maine. Growing up I was involved in many types of activities such as Girl Scouts, dancing, plays, musicals, tennis, lacrosee, and softball. Being an only child in a small town led me to be independent and self-sufficient.

Though this may seem to you as a typical childhood I assure you mine was anything but that for two main reasons. First, my family opened their own business in 1985, which provided me with the opportunity to learn how a small business is run. I always worked in the office helping out with adminstrative tasks from the time I was a little girl until we sold the company in 2007.

The second unique aspect of my childhood was my family's racing team, Coombs Motorsports. My father began stock car racing when he was in high school. After I was born the racing took a backseat to raising a family, but in 1994 my family decided it was time to get back to the track by purchasing a Legend Car. In 2003, Coombs Motorsports left Legend Cars to race an American Canadian Tour Late Model. The team still races the Late Model at home track, Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME.

Little did I know just how much of an impact these two unique aspects of my childhood would have on my future.

I am now a Senior at Bentley University in Waltham, MA majoring in Information Design and Corporate Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. Along with classes for my major and minor I am taking classes in sports management and marketing because I am hoping to pursue a career in motorsports PR and marketing.

Looking to the future....

I plan to move to North Carolina after graduating from Bentley University to continue building my network and start my career.
