This is how it all began.....
In the summer of 2008 I was the media intern for the Pro All Star Series North Division. I attended all of the summer races in Maine and a few in New Hampshire. At each race I was responsible for writing the post race releases that would be posted on the P.A.S.S. Web site.
During that summer I also became interested in working with Web 2.0 technologies specifically blogs due to an intern experience at a PR firm outside of Boston. During my internship with P.A.S.S., I met many members of the New England racing media. After speaking with some of them about their blogging experience I became interested in starting my own racing blog to post my race reports.
Thus far, my experience with blogs has been limited because, as a student, I was not able to be as up-to-date on racing news as I hoped to be. In the last year, I have also learned one of the best ways to showcase your work for potential clients and employers is to be on the Web. This led me to think about how I could combine my experiences with my passion for racing, which led me to start Pit Road Press Box.

Sorry for the long absence, but after the racing season ended I started working on my thesis. The final draft should be completed by December and will be posted on this site after submission. Small parts of the thesis may be discussed on the Pit Road Press Box Blog beforehand. So keep checking this site for updates.

The Coombs Motorsports Ford Fusion will be heading to Oxford Plains Speedway for its first race of the season this weekend, May 23. Gates open at 5:30 PM and racing will start at 6:30 PM. For more information, please visit the Oxford Plains Speedway Web site.

The Coombs Motorsports team hit the track for the first time in over a year for the Oxford Plains pre-season practice. The car was solid all day and was turning the same times from when it was last on the track in the fall of 2007. The team is headed back to the shop to fine-tune the Fusion for its first race on May 23.
